This impressive structure is the second largest granite building in the world. The museum was founded in 1786, with material that has been donated by generations of friends and graduates of the University. The collections range from Egyptian and Classical antiquities, non-Western ethnography and Scottish prehistory and rank alongside the largest in the world. The museum is free and open throughout the year.
